Some of you may wonder how to get those heart bokeh lights in your images. Here’s a little step by step instructions:
1. Trace your lens on black paper

2. Cut the circle, and then cut a heart in the middle. Then tape it on top of your lens.

3. We STILL haven’t put away our Christmas tree, so I used the x-mas tree lights as my background. What you have to do is set your aperture (some people call this your f-stop) to the lowest setting on your camera. I’m assuming an aperture of a 2.0 or lower is best for this. I set my aperture to a 1.8. Note, depending on what lens you have, you might not be able to set your aperture that low.
4. Now focus on your subject, and you will see the lights form to a heart shape. Here’s a picture of my daughter watching daddy shovel the driveway.
